How to Install Your eSIM

Receive Your eSIM Details

After purchase, you'll receive an email with your eSIM activation details including:

  • QR Code: For easy scanning and installation
  • ICCID: Your eSIM's unique identifier
  • Activation Instructions: Device-specific setup guide
  • Support Information: Contact details if you need help
Keep this email safe - you'll need the QR code to install your eSIM

Prepare Your Device

Before installing, ensure your device is:

  • Connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data
  • Running the latest iOS/Android version
  • eSIM compatible (check our compatibility page)
  • Not in airplane mode
Installation works best with a stable internet connection

Install Your eSIM

Choose your device type below for detailed instructions:

iPhone Installation (iOS 14.5+)
  1. Open the Camera app and scan the QR code from your email
  2. Tap the notification that appears: "Set Up Cellular Plan"
  3. Tap Continue when prompted
  4. Enter a name for your plan (e.g., "Vivafone US")
  5. Tap Add Cellular Plan
  6. Your eSIM is now installed! You'll see it in Settings → Cellular
Alternative method: Go to Settings → Cellular → Add Cellular Plan → Scan QR Code
Android Installation (Android 9+)
  1. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs
  2. Tap Add SIM card → Download SIM card
  3. Scan the QR code from your email
  4. Enter a name for your plan when prompted
  5. Tap Download and wait for activation
  6. Your eSIM will appear in the SIM list
Note: Some Android devices may have slightly different menu paths. Look for "SIM" or "Cellular" in Settings.
Other eSIM Compatible Devices

For devices not listed above:

  1. Look for eSIM or SIM settings in your device menu
  2. Find the option to "Add eSIM" or "Download SIM"
  3. Scan the QR code or manually enter the activation code
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation
Manual Entry: If QR scanning doesn't work, use the activation code from your email

Activate When You Travel

Once you arrive at your destination:

  1. Go to Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data
  2. Turn on your Vivafone eSIM data plan
  3. Turn off your home SIM data to avoid roaming charges
  4. Test the connection by browsing the web or using apps
Your eSIM is now active and ready to use!

Troubleshooting

QR Code Won't Scan

Try these solutions:

  • Ensure good lighting and hold steady
  • Clean your camera lens
  • Use manual entry with the activation code
  • Try a different QR code scanner app

No Internet Connection

eSIM installation requires internet access:

  • Use Wi-Fi instead of cellular data
  • Connect to a stable network
  • Try airplane mode off/on
  • Contact support if issues persist

eSIM Not Appearing

If your eSIM doesn't show up:

  • Restart your device
  • Check for software updates
  • Verify device compatibility
  • Contact our support team

No Signal at Destination

If you can't connect:

  • Check coverage in your area
  • Try moving to a different location
  • Toggle airplane mode
  • Contact local network support
